Peter Mulvey | Artists personal portrait and gig shoot

A week ago I travelled up to Letterkenny in Donegal to take some shots for a musician who I’ve been a real fan of for a while. Peter Mulvey is an American singer, song writer and guitarist, who has Irish roots and so tends to tour over here quite regularly. After I saw him play 10 years or so ago, in Dublin, I went out and got some guitar lessons: I’d never seen anyone play and perform as well, and I haven’t since.

Getting to do some personal portraits of Peter was a thrill – not least because I was able to take some shots of him performing afterwards (at the Green Room Live). Before the gig, we spent a little time casting around for some decent light, and found it up at Letterkenny’s Cathedral. The gig itself was fabulous. This guy just gets better and better.
